To bring visitors up to speed, this is the next iteration of Jack’s Newswatch. I’ve always liked a magazine format but long held off on the idea because the thought was a bit intimidating.
Things have changed as I get older and want to slow down a bit. This new approach will permit me to do just that.
For now I’m adding entries like crazy to get the site up to speed but in a week or so it will slow down and readers may only find a couple of new entries each day…sometimes there won’t be any. What I’m attempting to do is create reading material for folks who love their country and are totally upset with what passes for politicians these days (they promise the world and deliver nothing). The site content will reflect that problem in all it’s ignominy as time moves on and I hope visitors truly take a liking to all the truth to be displayed here. Truth you’ll never hear through most of the “LSM” but available in many places if you know where to look (and I do).
Basically this site operates under the provision of the “Fair Use” doctrine with regard to the internet. There is no intent to infringe on copyright of any column or news item republished herein but in the event that a copyright owner objects to the use of said material by Northern Phoenix a simple e-mail message requesting it be removed will suffice for said action to be taken as there is no wish to cause any offense to said party.
In its most general sense, a fair use is any copying of copyrighted material done for a limited and “transformative” purpose, such as to comment upon, criticize, or parody a copyrighted work. Such uses can be done without permission from the copyright owner. In other words, fair use is a defense against a claim of copyright infringement. If your use qualifies as a fair use, then it would not be considered an infringement.
The reason for printing full columns as opposed to a piecemeal approach has to do with the translation option found in the sidebar. I want foreign visitors, which I get a lot of, to be able to read the entire column. For translation I’m depending on Google to get it right. From what I understand they are doing just that and I have long wondered why the MSM hasn’t availed themselves of a very good tool.
Maybe they should start asking themselves that very question considering the net is available worldwide now.
They are missing the boat here.
